As the largest university-based local government training, advisory, and research organization in the U.S., UNC School of Government develops future public service leaders. In 2012, US News & World Report ranked the UNC MPA program sixth nationally in the specialty area of city management and 23rd overall. The school’s faculty members regularly engage with government officials at all levels and are able to provide students with unique perspectives and opportunities for career growth.
MPA@UNC is the school’s innovative, online MPA program that features the same academically rigorous curriculum as the on-campus program. By partnering with 2U, the school is able to provide students with an interactive virtual classroom that encourages collaboration through the use of familiar social networking tools. A program for working professionals, MPA@UNC students earn the same degree as on-campus students, and are invited to walk in UNC’s commencement. MPA@UNC is designed to build upon students’ passion, skills, and expertise in managing and leading local, state, federal government, or nonprofit organizations.
