The Master of Science in Data Science from SMU is an interdisciplinary degree program designed to train and develop data scientists to manage, analyze, interpret, make decisions and present information from large data sets in an increasingly data-driven world.
Delivered online, DataScience@SMU blends the flexibility of an online education with a rigorous curriculum that includes hands-on learning experiences. DataScience@SMU students also have the opportunity to attend an in-person immersion on SMU’s campus in Dallas — one of the leading centers in the U.S. for business, innovation, culture and service. The program draws on the internationally recognized faculty and academic resources of three SMU schools: Dedman College of Humanities and Sciences, Lyle School of Engineering and Meadows School of the Arts.
Through the program’s innovative technology platform, DataScience@SMU enables students from all over the world to earn a master’s degree from a nationally ranked university while balancing personal or professional commitments.
For 100 years, SMU has shaped minds, explored the frontiers of knowledge and nurtured intellectual entrepreneurship. SMU students, faculty and alumni are having a real impact on the world every day. The first hundred years of SMU have been world changing, and the University looks forward to what the next hundred years will bring.
