Lauren Holliday is the managing director of open courses and marketplace at 2U, Inc., where she oversees the performance and growth of the company’s open courses business, and leads the development of the edX marketplace as a pan-2U platform. She is responsible for all operational and financial targets across the open courses product line, including expanding free and growing edX’s innovative MicroMasters and MicroBachelors programs, while building a thriving community of learners, corporate and university partners on edX.
Lauren joined 2U through the edX acquisition, where she served as vice president of product, leading a team that grew the edX business 10x through an investment in customer orientation, experimentation, and collaboration.
Over the course of her career, Lauren has rallied teams to solve critical customer challenges in innovative ways. At edX, she launched MicroMasters in 2016 and Professional Certificates in 2017. While at Amazon, she launched the Elastic File System, an AWS product. At LinkedIn, she was involved with the acquisition of Lynda.com (now LinkedIn Learning).
Lauren graduated with honors from Harvard Business School and earned her bachelor’s from Northwestern University. When she’s not on Zoom, Lauren can be found with her husband chasing their children, who in turn are chasing seagulls, down the beaches of New England.
