The NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development prepares students to serve local communities and global society in the fields of health, education, media studies, and the arts.
Leveraging 2U’s leading technology platform, NYU Steinhardt expects to offer, pending approval by university and accrediting bodies, three online graduate degree programs featuring live face-to-face class sessions, interactive course work, and clinical training located near students’ communities.
Students in the Master of Arts in Counseling and Guidance program will learn from leading faculty in the field and gain valuable academic and experiential training to become professional Pre-K–12 school counselors who work with children, parents and guardians, and teachers, principals, and other educators to help children achieve. The program will offer concentrations in School Counseling and Bilingual School Counseling. Graduates will be eligible for certification as a school counselor.
In the Master of Science in Communicative Sciences and Disorders program, students will gain a strong theoretical understanding and hands-on clinical experience, learning directly from internationally recognized faculty who are experts in the field of speech-language pathology. Upon completion, students will be prepared for national certification and professional licensure as speech-language pathologists. Graduates will become active contributors to the diverse local and global communities in which they serve.
In the Doctor of Professional Studies in Occupational Therapy program, skilled occupational therapists will advance their knowledge, deepen their understanding of theory, and sharpen their critical thinking to provide high-quality care. Students will specialize and gain advanced competence in a chosen area such as pediatrics or upper quadrant rehabilitation.
