Veteran higher ed leader to accelerate marketing innovation and drive growth

ARLINGTON, VA — July 8, 2025 — 2U, a global leader in education technology, today announced the appointment of Meghan Rodgers as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), effective July 14, 2025. Rodgers brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in marketing and operations across the education and media sectors, specializing in building brands, driving digital transformation, and executing strategies that accelerate innovation and growth.

Reporting to CEO Kees Bol, Rodgers will lead 2U's global marketing and enrollment support teams, aligning these areas under a unified goal: connecting learners with educational opportunities and ensuring a seamless journey from initial engagement through enrollment. By leveraging her broad experience across marketing, operations, finance, and strategy, Rodgers will help drive institutional growth for 2U's partners and expand learner access to high-quality education in today's demanding market.

"Higher education is undergoing unprecedented transformation, and institutions need partners who can help them cut through complexity and competition to identify and reach the learners who will succeed in their programs," said Bol. "I'm excited to welcome Meghan because she brings exactly the combination of marketing expertise and operational experience that will help our partners—and the learners they serve—thrive."

Most recently, Rodgers was Chief Growth Officer at Nexford University, driving global expansion, strategic partnerships, and enrollment services. Prior to that, she held multiple senior leadership roles at Strategic Education, Inc. (SEI), including CMO and SVP of Strategic Operations for Strayer University and CMO of the Jack Welch Management Institute (JWMI), an online MBA program. During her tenure at SEI, she led a post-pandemic brand revitalization of Strayer University, which generated eight consecutive quarters of enrollment increases and operational improvements, while also driving a significant expansion of JWMI's reach and reputation in the online MBA market.

“I’ve always respected 2U as a leader in expanding access to quality online higher education,” said Rodgers. “2U’s commitment to innovation, from marketing to student support, has consistently evolved to meet what institutions need to succeed in a dynamic, competitive landscape. Helping people achieve their goals through education is something I care deeply about, so it’s an honor to join 2U’s legacy and mission—and to help broaden our reach and impact in the market.”

Earlier in her career, Rodgers held roles at the Travel Channel and Discovery Communications (now Warner Bros. Discovery), where she worked in international strategy, finance, and business development and earned the Women in Cable Telecommunications Emerging Leader award. Rodgers holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.S. in Accounting from Miami University (OH). She currently serves as President of the National Collegiate Cancer Foundation, which has provided educational assistance to more than 800 young adults affected by cancer.

"2U has led the industry in education marketing innovation for nearly 20 years, and Meghan's appointment accelerates that momentum," added Bol. "Her expertise strengthens our ability to deliver unmatched marketing excellence and enrollment results as we continue expanding access to transformative education from the best institutions in the world."
